Course Description:
This class will review issues of coverage for product liability and product recall coverage. This class will provide an overview of the evolving legal theories of product liability in the U. S. as they relate to the Commercial General Liability Insurance policy.
The class will include a discussion of the new Food Safety Modernization Act of 2011 and will conclude with a review of product recall coverage and will include the following:
Food spoilage, contamination and reduction of risk exposures
Product liability – what it means and how it is imposed upon various businesses
The response of the Commercial General Liability policy for product liability
Major exclusions and restrictions in the policy that affect the insureds coverage
Product recall coverage concerns
