Course Description:

Placing insurance on a condominium requires that the insurance agent has a clear understanding of what must be insured on the Association Policy and the Unit Owners Policy. This course will focus on five areas that are commonly misunderstood and often not written or written incorrectly.

The topics that will be covered include:
  • Understanding the difference between a Cooperative, Townhouse and Condominium;
  • Reviewing the CC & R of the Association;
  • Determining what coverages must be provided on the Association Policy for both property owned in association and the units as defined in the CC & Rs;
  • Review of some key coverages the association must carry specifically D & O insurance
  • Review of the unit owners policy
