Course Description:

This course will review the areas of coverage that are unique to writing certain types of coverage on a claims-made or claims made and reported liability form.  The class first reviews the coverage trigger differences between the occurrence form and claims made form and then reviews the differences found in a claims made and reported form.  The course will also review significant application and coverage concerns that need to be addressed with the insured when providing this type of coverage.  

The course will include:
  • Occurrence coverage form trigger; Claims made coverage form trigger; Claim made and reported coverage form trigger
  • Basic reporting period; extended reporting period
  • Continuity date – P &P date; application and coverage response
  • Laundry listing importance
  • Notice and knowledge of loss language
