Insurance Training

Insight is an approved provider of continuing education in California. Insight offers a variety of educational opportunities to be conducted on-site at your own facility.  Each class offers four hours of training.  You can choose any combination of classes to be taught providing a maximum of eight hours of training per day.  All of the classes are designed to be interactive and provide an insight into how to analyze insurance exposures and understand how to deal with them from a risk management perspective and insurance transfer.  Insight can develop any class of your choosing.

Course Description:  This course will discuss the basics of commercial property insurance covering such issues as:  blanketing; coinsurance/margin clauses; valuation; structuring of the policy in terms of limits and capacity; building ordinance; and endorsements applicable.

Course Description:  The Department of Insurance in California requires that licensed broker/agents take an ethics class in order to renew their license. This class satisfies the Ethics requirement.

The focus of this class is to study Ethics and the Insurance Industry.  Ethics is a required course by the Department of Insurance in most states.  The issues discussed in the presentation include:

Course Description:  This class will discuss the Homeowners Policy in terms of eligibility; coverages applicable for both property and liability; limitations and exclusions and endorsements available.

Course Description: 
This course will discuss the most common causes of errors and/or omissions and how to avoid them from occurring.  From simple issues as documentation to new digital requirements, this course will use real claims examples to highlight errors that agency personnel need to be aware of and avoid.


Insight on How to Complete a Business Income Worksheet
Course Description:  This class will begin with reviewing basic accounting issues relating  the service, retail and manufacturing risk.  We will then look at components of financial statements to determine what information is required for completion of a worksheet.  Using the ISO worksheet as an example, we will look at the required information on  the worksheet and train how to take the information from the financials to complete the worksheet.  Lastly,  the class will focus on "coinsurance" and choosing the correct percentage based on the client's requirements for coverage


Insight on How to Insure Home Businesses
Course Description:  The business model has changed with more companies closing their doors and conducting their operations out of their homes.  Home-based businesses present unique exposures and traditional personal lines policies, such as Homeowners and Personal Auto policies,  have limitations that need to be reviewed.  This course will look at exposures; coverage limitations and solutions for the "cottage industry" risk.


Insight on How to Insure the "Manufacturing Risk"
Course Description:  The class will review the exposures of the various types of manufacturers from the small to large; domestic to international; self sufficient to operationally reliant risks.  Coverage analysis will include property, casualty and ancillary lines such as intellectual property and transportation.


Insight on How to Insure the "Winery Risk"
Course Description:
  This class will focus on the winery risk reviewing exposures and solutions from the vine to the wine. The class will review exposures of: growing; processing/manufacturing and sales.  Wineries are traditionally involved in many other business ventures including: retail product sales of non-wine products; agri-tainment such as wine tasting, special events; restaurants on winery premises and much more.  Laurie Infantino, one of the instructors on this class, designed the "winery checklist" which has been sold throughout the country as a tool for choosing the correct coverages for this complex segment of insurance.

  In reviewing any account the process begins with reviewing the insurance proposal; application; binders; certificates and policy issued. This course will discuss that process focusing on correctly completing the application and issuing evidence of insurance or certificates of insurance.

Course Description:  This course will discuss the exposures and insurance solutions for companies that hold patents; copyrights; trademarks or other types of intellectual property.  The CGL no longer responds to most types of IP claims.  This class will review discuss the types of property that qualifies under Intellectual Property law; the coverages, exclusions and limitations for IP under the CGL; and the coverages provided on a stand alone Intellectual Property Policy.
